I'm curious to know if this new salt will have as high of a borate alkalinity as the Seachem Reef Salt does. I've been using the Reef Salt for a couple months and I've found that the content of borate alk makes for difficulty in testing, even when using a Seachem test kit. Anybody heard anything about that?

I am restarting my tank and would love to start using this salt. How do I purchase it? Do I have to hope my LFS gets it or is there a way to get it online?

Does anyone know the actual release date?

Thats good to know...the Seachem Reef Salt has a boron concentration of 16 mg/L that makes alkalinity testing more complicated than is necessary. I hope this new salt isn't too pricey.

This is kinda vague, but a Seachem Rep told me it would be available soon after New Years.

If I want to start using the Seachem reef salt but then switch to Salinity is it bad or hard to do?

I have switched salts with no ill effects. Just do it slowly with water changes.

One of my local LFS's was telling me about this salt like a month ago. I guess they are a certified SeaChem distributor and he told me it was going to be quite expensive but very good salt. He hinted to me they would be selling it at about 70-80 bux for a 5 gallon bucket I believe. I don't know how that will reflect at other places because most of their dry goods are fairly over priced I think.
