    Seachem Purigen Particles in water

Hi everyone. Quick question. Local store suggested I use Purigen instead of carbon bag in my external canister filter. Bought the Purigen and a mesh bag.
Put in the canister all these purigen particles are going into the water. The bag is allowing the particles to go through it. Even just holding the wet bag in my hand leaves particles behind. They gave me the only bag they have
    Is this normal?
My mesh bag have holes to large?
Should there be particles in the water? Some got on my anemone and it shriveled up. Thought it died.

Or is the answer I need a small holed mesh bag?

Did you/are you supposed to rinse it first?

    Thanks for reply
rest but dont need to rinse. I did though. Its very fine particle to help clean the tank. Guessing I should see if small holed bags.
If you help this wet bag and then put it down. Youd have these particles all over your hand. Just from holding it

I would say the holes are too big - particles I'm sure are not supposed to come out like that.....

    Thanks guys.
Can I use pantyhose? Maybe put the current bag filled with Purigen into a the foot of pantyhose. Tie off and into canister?

Your LFS should be able to order one for you. If not, go here:

    Filter Media Bag

Nylon tends to repel water; given the pore density, you may not get sufficient flow through your media.
