Sea hare DEAD!!!!!!!!

    I just got home and my sea hare is dead!!!!!!!!
    tested water everything is good my calcium is a little low and the carbonate hardness is off some
    calcium- 360
    carbonate hardness- 89.3
    phosphate- 0
    nitrate - 0
    nitrite - 0
    PH - 8.4
    ammonia - 0
    temp 78

    all other live stock doing great!!!
    snails are active ,crabs crabbing
    fish are swimming, swimming,swimming
    any help wouild be great

    What size is your tank???? They are none stop eaters...

    tank is 75 Gallon
    i have a ground probe installed
    there is still lots of hair algea
    is it possible that it may have gotton stuck?
    it was between back of tank and some live rock ( a pretty tight squeeze)

    I had one also that died in a pretty tight spot. (not my 5.5) But I'm sure mine ran out of food. I could be possible. When I found mine it was a ball of slime....

    Unfortunately, sometimes sea hares die. I had one wander into an elegance coral which tried to swallow it. I rescued it and shortly thereafter, it wandered right back into the elegance. I rescued it again but the elegance sting must have been too much for it and it died. I pulled it out and WOW talk about stank! It went the way of the nemo....one flush and away it went.

    Sorry for your loss, Its sucks to lose one of our creatures but it happens. Those are the heart aches when playing god.

    My sea hare was one of my 2 little boys favorites.. They are pretty neat.....

    Sea Hares live a short life!!! They last a year or less in nature or in a captive environment!!!!
    It is possible that it died naturally!!!
    Again, one year or less is tops for their life expectancy!
