    Phil,

Yep I guess he could do that, but his question was "would the fish be OK" and in my opinion they would not :)

    Cheers

Hopefully the fish will be ok.

Not a bad thought Phil. Coupled with a skimmer, once it takes off that could be a nice setup.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but did anyone pick up on the fact that this tank will be completely devoid of anything but water and fish?

    John :)

Hahaha, yes, just fish and water.
The fish are doing fine. They are all eating and very healthy.

My old reef tank looked better than this bare tank.
I had a metal halide and even kept a few clams.
But this fish and water only tank is so much easier to take care of than the old reef tank.

I am considering going with an eheim cannister filter and a prism pro protein skimmer.
Any one have any experience with the prism pro protein skimmer and the eheim cannister filters?

My water is cloudy now. I think phospates are making the water cloudy. The bottom and sides of the tank are sometimes covered with a brown algae.
How can I get rid of it this brown algae?
Will the protein skimmer and the Eheim cannister filter clear the water? ::)

    Hi again Copperband :)

I can't be bothered reading all of the previous posts, so do you run a sump?

no sump in this tank. just a powerhead and a noisy tetratec 300 hang on the tank filter.
my old reef tank had a sump for the heater and protien skimmer.
with this fish only tank, i wanted a simple to maintain tank. everything is going good with this tank.
    low maintenace tank.
i want a hang on the tank protein skimmer and a eheim canister filter.
this would be an excellent way to keep the water clean.
    ::)
