what is the adverage pH swing that your tanks goes through in a 24hr period?

 

Good Question, I'd be way more concerns about a huge PH swing than a CA of 300.

0.2 it seems; acceptable.

 

Did you raise your calcium 150 points in one day, or did I miss something?

 

Yes. I did rise the ca. I did a 5 mm dose with the kent ca.

 

7 day APEX graph

This is a 7 day graph of my ph.

Ph went down to 8.25 last night. If the swing is another .2 today it will go up to around 8.45.

I added code to the apex so if PH goes past 8.4 then it will lower the lights 50% and will send txt messages and e-mails to myself at work e-mail, home e-mail, cell phone txt message. It will also send e-mail and txt messages to billieliewis3 who lives 5 min away.

 

Potential of a kalk overdose that's still adjusting in your tank? My other thought is the pH electrode. Have you calibrated/verified it recently. I know our $800 unit at work tends to climb/descend without settling on a number if it needs calibrating.
