So I must say that for the first time in a very long time I have been dramatically surprised on the health of one of my aquarium inhabitants. I went downstairs about 90 minutes ago to play a computer game with a friend of mine and when I did so the male Potters was on his side in the sand, breathing heavily and not moving. I had given into the fact that he wasn't going to make it. I was just hoping he would go before my wife got home because she doesn't deal with fish death very well.

When I came back upstairs a few minutes ago he was gone! Well at least gone from where he had been laying. I looked around and found him swimming in one of the caves. He doesn't look completely recovered, but I can't believe he is still alive, much less swimming.

I've added some pics below. The quality blows because I don't have my lights yet, but at least you'll get the idea. The good news is that all fish have taken bites of food with the exception of the male Potters.

A HORRID quality photo of the male Potters swimming.

A terribly blurry, very crappy pic of the medium (female) Potters.

I hope the potters makes it out okay! Do you have a QT setup or anything? Love the powder blue tang by the way. Those are some of my favorite fish. I wish I had a big enough tank for one. What lights are you going to be adding?

I routinely catch grief for what I'm about to tell you, but I don't do quarantine tanks. I believe that if you keep your water quality high enough, give good quality food in quantity and keep the stress down then the fish can fight disease and parasites on their own. Additionally, it's tough to keep a quarantine tank at the same level as the display tank so that just adds more stress to the fish. Lastly, disease can come into the tank in a variety of methods other than on a new fish addition.

I do have an extra 45g tank that I can quickly connect into the system to provide a low stress acclimation area for delicate fish, but again, it's part of the overall system.

As for lighting, I've already got the lights and am having the "fixture" custom made. The lights on the SPS side are four Aqua Illumination Sol Blues and on the semi-reef side is a Solaris H4 fixture.

    Livestock Update:

    - The Powder Blue just found the veggie clip and took his first bites.

    - The Potters survived the night and looks pretty good. I haven't seen him take a bite yet, though. The other two have been picking at the rocks and found a couple floating pieces.

Glad to hear he is doing better. Angels in a new tank are a dice roll.
