Is Distilled water, or RO water best, or is there a difference. And if Distilled water is as good as RO water why not build a still and not have filters to replace?

sometimes distilleries use LOTS of copper piping, so i would steer clear of that.

Most distilleries I've seen where constructed completely out of copper. I think that's the biggest issue. A "reef safe" water distillery would have to be constructed out of stainless steel and therefore be astronomically expensive to build... then you would have to power it to boil water and not make a steam bomb in the kitchen/bathroom... I think that the RO/DI units are just more compact and efficient than a 'still.

distill will not get out gasious forms of toxins. where the membrain of a ro unit gets out stuff on the atomic level. or so I am lead to belive. plus the copper pipes in distilled water plants are not always listed clearly (meaning tons of research to find which ones use what). I just stick with what works.

NOT distillery plants I mean a still built for the soul purpose of distilling water, using plastic tubing instead of copper, I was just wondering in the long run which would be more economical, and if anyone has had adverse results using distilled water instead of rodi. thats all
