A trick to get RO/DI to taste better is to run it through some GAC. The carbon dust is really all that is needed for flavor :) Or just go with RO, without the DI. Really better anyways and tastes good without any treatment.

Many of the famous coffee houses use RO/DI water then run it through a remineralization cartridge to add back just the right amount of minerals for taste.
Spectrapure sells remineralization cartridges that fit in a standard 10" canister for just that purpose. They even sell a "Coffee Lovers" system complete.

That is really interesting. It is something the lengths that some people will go to sterilize their drinking water but then have no idea of the crap that they are ingesting from the air they breath or the processed/pre-packaged food they are consuming. I guess if it makes them sleep better, although I doubt they will live any longer. Hah!:cheesy:

Waterborne diseases and epidemics are common and can be catastrophic. We can control our water quality quite easily and economically with a point of use, POU, type device like a RO or RO/DI system.
Controlling our air quality is a little harder to do since we cannot easily purify it then take it with us like a bottle of water.
Food is something we have some limited control over by choosing what and where we eat but again we are really at the mercy of others unless we produce and process everything ourselves which is feasable for most of the population.
