I'm so sorry for your loss :( Hiding the salt wouldn't occur to me either, but now you know. I'm sorry :(

Wow I am so sorry to hear about Carnicera. Why not do nano reef and mantis tank? G. glabrous is perfectly comfortable in bright light and live aquaria (divers den) is starting to carry more stomatopods.

I think I will do a nano reef for sure. One PAR38 bulb will be more than enough light. I don't know about another mantis right now though. It's stupid but I miss her a lot.

    R.I.P Carni :(

You can never, ever predict every little variation of a possible disaster.
I'm sorry for your loss, bro.

its very sad, but Im trying to find the positives from the situation

your son of only 4 years old, has been paying attention and is interested
interested enough to show someone much older "How this stuff works"

Id be dissapointed, but also proud, if my son had done similar

Time is all I have at the moment and not in any rush to do anything with her tank. I know for sure I'll break it down eventually and move everything down stairs. Most likely a nano reef and who know's, maybe another mantis down the road.

I wasn't really disappointed that he did it, it was more that he knows not to mess with the tanks. But yes he is very interested in all of the tanks and even has a 2 gallon with a beta in his room. How many four year olds do you know that can go to an lfs and give common names for corals and some fish that even employees don't know lol.

She's been gone almost 2 months now. I finally tore the tank down today. It's been running, wasting energy. It all got cleaned up and put in boxes. So just like Carnicera this thread has passed.
