I had a huge wisteria plant in my 29 that I was throwing away softball to basketball size clumps every few weeks.i had a few other plants that I was constantly having to throw away and I still had algae I couldn't get rid of...one thing I did that helped for a while was a 3 day black out. But every time I cleaned it it looked great for a few days lol.

Soon enough there'll be more water down there LOL. The Anubis (or Anachris) on the right is a real weed. The piece you see floating at the top left of the pic was clipped from the longest stem on the right 2 days before the pic was taken yesterday. Today the longest stem has reached the waters surface again already lol.

Wow! It's the xenia of the freshwater world lol. Can you sell the plants too? Or are those not worth enough to be worth the effort?

That type is worthless. I buy it bunches of 10 plants for $2 lol. It'd take alot of plants to = 1 Xenia frag even lol so not interested in that much work to make a buck LOL. You know how lazy I am!

Just wanted to add a couple pics to this thread since I'm here.

The Tiger Lotus is my current favorite plant. It's sent shoots up to the surface and there is a beautiful leaf that lays flat attached. Not to mention the gorgeous red/green striped pattern.

Very pretty!! They are maturing nicely.

What is the point of the deep gravel bed? Is that for the plants? Or just because it's pretty?! :)

3" minimum is what the guys at aquariumplants.com told me. I read it elsewhere as well and 2in10 confirmed. The roots need somewhere to go I guess. Wish coral grew as fast as plants!

Alright, that's what I thought. Just curious!
