River rock in a reef tank?

    Yeah, the write ups I have read all say approx 6 to 10 weeks to fully cure, and I remember reading about someone complaining they had been curing for 5 months and still had crazy PH readings - as I recall they used the wrong type of cement I think

    Hmm.. well. Maybe I can get a big piece of holy or fiji and just scrape it smooth.

    could look for something inert, I used to have a big chunk of pink quartz rock that looked great, better yet a big chunk of obsidean glass would be striking as well as smooth for your purposes

    Glass would look cool, almost give the appearance the coral is floating on "air".

    i have riverrock in my 75 and it hasnt caused any issues,testing it is a great idea though

    you could also get some fiji and epoxy one side to make it smooth
