Rinse live sand?

    I completely agree. It's a waste of money. If you want to kick start your cycle, use "bio-spira". That's what I used to start my tank cycle and it worked well for me.

    Ouch...I would never recommend using SW from the ocean to rinse anything.God knows what you may introduce.I use LS in all my sytems and have never had any problems with it. It is important that the only water that comes in contact with the LS is saltwater.Therefore you will either need to
    A.Add water and salt to the tank first.Allow it to mix/oxygenate.Then pour in the sand.(This is the way I usually do it.)
    B.Add sand.Then mix SW in a seperate container and add it to the tank.
