They sure are quiet, I think I mentioned that when I fired it up (the controller gradually ramps it up to the setting you have set), I thought it wasn't working, then after a short bit, my overflow was flowing into my sump again! No vibration, virtually no noise!

    Update:

I was going to go larger diameter anyways, so I took Jerry's advice and
Went 1&1/2 inch- 10ft up and nice rounded 90's over my tank edge!

WOW- what a difference! The head height is the same, just went from 1" to 1&1/2".

NOw, I can turn it down a setting, and it still flows more than the 1" on the highest setting.

I'm running it on the highest. My trusty DIY overflow handles it great!
I haven't measured it yet, looks to be around 900-1000+/gph- thru the sump.

Todd, you have any recent updates with this pump by any chance? Looking into getting the DC6000 for my 90 upgrade that is in the planning and equipment purchasing stage.

... and get someone with a clamp-on meter to measure the watts so yall can bury the:

The more head, the less flow. The less flow, the less watts. statement.

    hmmmmmm....

Now I'm very curious how the Jebao DC3000 would do as a skimmer pump in my SCA-301!
I suppose they'll have a needle wheel \ venturi kit from the Diablo eventually...

Uh, guy and gals, this HAS been done and documented of other sites and threads.

It was true in most cases, the more head, or the more it's choked off with a vlave, the less watts it uses.

Well, I did alot of fragging for my guests last night at the January WI Reef Society Party I hosted last night!

    I learned so much also!

Like I actually have a Watermelon BTA! Thought is was Rose BTA.

And what I'd been calling a Rose MIlli, looks actually to be a Red Panet with different color morphs.

And my Majenta BN- a pink stylophora!

    Just to name a few

The party was a great success, and people really liked my Homebrew too.
