I can't reach the bottom where it's actually attached to the rock at all. Are you's saying to put an ice cube anywhere against the nem? Here you can see what I mean. I tried putting a ice cube up against the stem part and all it did was retract back into the freaking hole!!! Oh and look what the nems been hiding...it's own lil stash of bubble algae LMAO!

What about if I wait for them to fully open and then *cut* them off as close to the rock as possible. Would this kill them?

i am pretty sure if you cut the foot you will most likely kill them.

After speaking with several others about removing these guys, they are all in agreement that if I cannot reach the foot in any way my only other options is to *cut* them out.

I will be trying a long thin flat head screw driver to gain access to the foot. In hopes of scraping them loose. Otherwise if this fails, then I am just going to cut them off and cover the foot with Kalk paste.

I'll keep you all posted. I'm hoping for the best. But know that I care way more for my fish then I do these nems. It was an honest, ignorant newbie mistake.

I wouldnt cut the foot, you risk losing them. What about taking the rock out the water and breaking of that piece?

+1 for taking the rock out and breaking it apart over cutting!

See the rock they're attached to? Removing it is NOT an option. That in one rock, bigger then a basket ball. So no I won't be removing it.
