I am going to be doing a remote sump to the right side of my tank. Going to utilize the space and am looking into a large fuge w/mangroves or an ATS.

Does anyone have pics or links for ideas and info? Thanks

Well, I ended up going with a remote sump with no fuge. I am running ecobak pellets and having a fuge is kind of pointless. My tank is almost been set up for about a year now, and I started this project a good while ago, but either way, it all came together today...Finally! The thing about this was, we figured out a while ago that the sump would NOT fit under the tank, so I decided to put it to the right of the tank in the corner. So a little different plans had to be made for plumbing. I plan on building some sort of table that I can slide over it, and just slide it out to access it. Anyways, I got a killer deal on a SWC 160 cone the other night, and already had my avast marine reactor running. I did the baffles myself in a 20 long, and am using a CPR overflow box. I am still planning on adding the Reef Keeper Elite that I won at a local reef club meeting. Need to get some float switches and somehow do an ATO. And am about to hook up some aqua dosers that basically have an I.V. drip on them for Alk and Cal.

Looks good. Definitely set up some floats on the RK to turn off the pump if the display starts overflowing. I used an HOB overflow and it worked great for years until one day it didn't. It's amazing how much water a small carpet can absorb :) Nice work on the baffles.

Looks good, but I'd scrap the filter sock.. They do a little to much polishing IMO & tend to clog very easly. It's great if you do any maint & stir up the tank a bit. That is how I use them.

Also, have you tried a power failure test? Power off your return pump & make sure that the water that returns back into your sump does not flood.

ATO is VERY easy to build. I built mine in 20min.. But since you have a controller you can use that to control that with a fail-safe (max & min) settings.

Thanks. I am going to get 2 float valves made for the RKE, and you can somehow put them on one bracket, from what I've read on DA's forums. Use the bottom one for the level, and the top one for a fail safe if the first one jams up. I'm thinking this will cover both my ATO and if my overflow fails.

@ComputerJohn I have done 4 power off tests, and the siphon breaks everytime, and my sump fills up about 2 inches. I made the baffles 8 inches, and that left me with 4 inches of play. So I feel confident that there won't be any flooding from that.
