refuge

I just set up a refuge. My problem is stabilizing the water level. What i have it doing is water from my refuge is going to my tank from my tank it goes to the sump and in the sump is my protein skimmer, the output from my protein skimmer goes to the refuge.. I have it to where the water in the refuge slowly goes down, and not up because it would flood... Any suggestions on stabilizing it? I have heard of using a flush valve, not sure how it would work... right now i am just adjusting the valve on the pump and can not seem to get it dead on, pretty close though.

 

I may be wrong but why would you have your skimmer dumping into your fuge, after all a fuge it used to remove excess nutrients and stuff, isn't that what a skimmer does too?

and I am having a little bit of trouble visualizing what your saying here, a picture or drawing might help.
