I'm building a canopy for my 75G and was woundering if i could use a piece of Stainless or Diamond plate 48''x19'' as the reflector on the top of the canopy. And if so what about the heat the is generated to the metal do I need to put something between the wood and the metal to disperse the heat?
The reflectors would only be for the Atinics not he MH's...

stainless steel dose not disipate heat very effeciently not nearly as effeciantly as aluminum. It is always good to make a gap between the metal and the canopy even if it is just a quarter inch to help disipate heat and to limit the posibility of water and creep from evaporation being traped between the metal and canopy.
