    8 Dwarf Blue Leg crabs
    5 Scarlet Reef crabs
    1 Emerald Crab
    1 Sally Lightfoot Crab
    1 Halloween Crab
    1 peppermint shrimp
    1 fire shrimp
    1 Sand Sifting Starfish
    1 Linkia Starfish

    Wow havnt typed that all out in a while haha. Just reading that maybe I need to up my snail mix, especially a broader range of species.

    What do you all think? Any suggestions?

    dude i have a 75 gallon reef with about 2 pepermint shrimp, 1 cleaner shrimp, 3 snails and 3 hermits. and no algae. do you have a ro system?

    and these are the fish
    2x clown
    1x kole tang
    1x coral beauty
    1x flame angel
    1x lyretail anthias
    1x diamond goby

    Yes, its the Coralife RO unit. I do not have a DI cannister on it though. Could that be the problem? I know our water quality here is very poor. This house is 25 years old and is out in the country on a well water system with a water softener.

    My first cannister on the RO system, the Micron Filter always turns orange from Iron build up I guess in the pipes after about 2 weeks of use. Its bad I know... I hate it... This is where I live though, what can I do haha

    jeeze. mine was completely clogged after about 3 months. just the first filter. i would say check your tds before and after the ro system. the system might not be removing everything?

    I try to change my Micron Filter atleast once every month, the Carbon Filter once every 2 month.

    Yeah that would be the next step. I just dont have the cash right now for a good TDS Reader. Do you know of any good ones that are fair priced?

    maybe call your LFS and ask if they can do it? i know most will check water perams, maybe the can do tds :) and no i don't own one, have no experience with them sorry!

    You can get a hand held TDS meter for around $25. So there not that bad. Im not sure what kind of algae that its. It does kinda look like green coralline.
