    They can be cut as short or long as you'd like. The screw strips serve no structural purpose. They are there soley for the uprights to have something to screw into. Without them, the uprights have no support or means of attachment.

    Thanks, Patrick. The tank is filling up now. The sump is in place and plumbed. Pics to come.

    Wow, looking great so far. Gotta love small tanks ridiculously overbuilt, I did the same thing on my nano build a while back and got waaaay more comments on that one tank than all the others I have done combined.

    Reef. I like the bean you've built. Is that the final position of the overflow intakes? I thought the excess water overflow tube with the air tube on top was also pointed down. I see yous is pointed up instead. any experience with a bean before to know if this makes a difference? I'm going to build one for the next upgrade tank, looking to get as much info before hand as possible to minimize noise & air.
