I want to paint the glass baffles for my sump black. Is there a reef safe paint that will not break apart in the salt water?

The Sweetwater paint that horkn used on his tank is reef safe, but for something small like you are doing, I would just use Krylon fusion for plastic. I use it on all of my PVC, and on my acrylic overflow box. 100% reef safe.

The revolutionary no-prep, superbond Fusion for Plastic® now makes painting plastic possible.

    No sanding or priming required
Bonds easily to most plastics, PVC, resin and more
Fast dry; fully chip resistant after 7 days
Features EZ Touch 360® Dial Spray Tip
    DRY TO TOUCH

    Fusion is reef safe.
but my buddy used it for some pvc and his overflow box in his tank and snails can rip it off. also his urchin went right through the stuff. it looks pretty bad now with chunks of it missing

Thank you. The baffles are glass. Will the paint still work well?

With painting, it's all in the prep work. If the surface is not clean or oily, fingerprints, etc., it will not stick well. Apply thin coats. It should work as long as you're not scrubbing on it. I assume it's just to block the light?

It bonds Really well to plastic and PVC. If it peels off, it wasn't prepped correctly.

+1 make sure you clean the crap out of it.
I painted the back of my tank with it and it worked great. I just used some paper towel with water and it seemed to work.
