Well, it's certainly a good looking piece of machinery.

Looking forward to the critique. BUT I guess we'll ALL have to wait while you take care of your PERSONAL life!!

Dude, I didn't know you wheel...me too. So this thing actually does exist hu? Looks great. I would have put it in before I left, but that is just the kind of dedicated person I am. I guess not all are like me;D

I'm sure you will have plenty of fun with it when you get back.

Setup was a breeze.... adjusting the water level within is super easy with the nice gate valve. Recommended water level is at 5-6". I have it at 6"

Well this bad boy skimming already. First signs of skimmate in the collection cup in about an hour..... check out the nice foam its producing for me.

Take a full skimmer shot dude. That should be a new acronym. FSS.

is that a hole in the cup for an optional drain / external waste container?

I am not using the best of cameras so please forgive on the quality. Im hopin the skimmers quality will make up for the lack of photo quality ;)

So it been a full 24hours of this skimmer running. And a couple of quick things I have realized. This is a touchy skimmer. Water level in the sump is absolutely key. If your are not implementing an ato system to keep wate level within a 1/2-1" forget about this skimmer. Youll be constantly adjusting and will be disappointed. I have set my jbj ato to fluctuate no more than an 1'' tops. But this is just something ive noticed in the first 24 hours and please dont take as solid concrete info at this time. wait for review ;)

I really do like the skimmate thats been produced in the first 24hours. Remember that this collection cup has some decent size to it. Compared to my old skimmer aqua euro 135 this octo has surpassed it without having to work too hard.

    So enjoy the photos.

Post any questions that you may have on this cone skimmer :)

Ahh yes - this is a common problem with skimmers. Maybe you can trade your JBJ ATO and pony up for a Tunze or a Spectrapure UPLCII. I have the Tunze Osmolator and with the infrared sensor it only allows about 1/8" flux. It is great. However, the Spectrapure runs on pressure variance and has a quieter pump. I've been looking at it a lot.

    Regardless, NICE SKIMMER! 8)
