Awesome, this really helps. Now, I'll be focusing on getting my magnesium up instead of chasing all the numbers at once.

That hermit in the picture is a blue leg.

Ha! "winner?" sums it up well. But really, I'm glad I entered because I'm starting to believe I can fix this thing whereas before I was almost sure the tank would always be a fuzzy caulerpa garden.

Hopefully the plan works, thanks for the encouragement

a nice sized blue leg is what I think you meant to say, but we are talking about the mini guy who is camoflauged in front of him. ;) I do have a field guide with some hermits in it, I have to track that down and get back to you with the proper species id.

I agree that species isn't a match, it seems to be solid white, this guy has beige bands on him. "White claw hermit, or dwarf white claw hermit" are the only names I have heard for them though in the hobby. Common names are confusing but I will get that species id for you soon. The blue leg is a Clibinarus tricolor, I remember that one at least. :)

I found this dwarf yellow tip hermit crab. This is getting close, but still too dark. Perhaps mine are juveniles and not yet dark? Not sure

the guys in fly speckled cerith and nassarius shells are full sized. That is a different hermit for sure, the bands on the white claw hermits are smaller.
