I dunno if they just gave out the probes to the people who bought the first batch, or gave them discounts, but you can't get probes from the first batch anymore, so it's probably not applicable to you haha.

Salinity monitoring is nice, but not that nice ;)

I have a Neptune AquaController III.
Once you get past the learning curve of programming it, it is a very good thing to have.

    Good:
I have 4 Koralias and am using random timers on them.
All my lights are on timers. 8 stages of lighting for a very good dawn / dusk effect.
    Online tank parameter and status.

    Bad:
If you have a hardware failure, you can loose a lot of equipment quickly.
Dosing can only be done on full minute timers. Newer models give you a seconds exact timer.

I think I will stay with the refractometer.

I would be nice for dosing, wavemaker and ATO functions as well as lighting. The more I think about it and read up the more I want to pull the trigger.

I would definitely go with a controller of some kind. Now, to pick between the Apex, RA and RK...

Oh yeah, that's basically an RKL Plus minus one of the PC4 power strips.

I need to look at RA, but RK is definitely cheaper than Neptune.

I saw that, might be a good way to go. I have 4 Koralias that I want to use in wavemaker mode so I don't if I want to go with the lite's pair set up or the elite's multiple pairs set up.

The MD deal + a separate PC4 is cheaper than the real Plus package by like 30 bucks.

    Good deal.

Reef Angel wants $199 for the head unit, 8 outlet relay box, pH probe, temp probe, 2 switches for ATO use and the necessary cables. They also have the basic programming to operate everything for lights, wavemaker, heaters and ATO created you just need to activate it.
