Red and Purple Algae

    I am making this post on behalf of my father. He has a 55 gal tank and on one side in the sand is red algae and on the other side is some purple looking algae. My question is how the heck does he get ride of it and I have never herd of purple algae. Any ideas?

    the red may be red slime. and the purple mmay be coralline. Just try ti get rid of the red stuff.. A pic would help tons.

    Ok I will work I getting one from him. What is coralline? And how does he ger rid of the Red stuff?
