    The ELN driver maxes out at 1.3A, so for your cool white's you don't need to do anything, but under 1A is correct for the XP-E Royal Blues.

    also I was woundering, just so I dont have to place an order on a seperate website for the heat sinks, do you think 2 of the 5.9x16" heat sinks with 20 leds on each and 60 degree optics will give me enough spread to light up a 48x16" tank?

    It depends on how high above the water the lights are but I think that would be fine.

    for the wireing I have 18 gauge solid wire, can I use that or do I need stranded wire?

    Ill use stranded wire for connecting the drivers to the leds and to the controller but just to wire the leds together I want to use the solid wire because I can just bend it around the other leds on the heatsink. is there any problem with doing this

    Typically people use stranded wire but I don't think there's a problem with using solid core wire.

    cool thanks I have both but I think it would be easier to use the solid wire for conecting the leds together

    For the record:

    There is no difference in solid or stranded wire in this instance. Only when dealing with high AC frequencies or higher Amp loads would this be an issue.
