Raising Brine (Artemia) to breeding stage?

Hey guys,

Been pouring over some info on bbs raising. Of course most of the info out there is regarding how to raise them from eggs. I'm curious though if you can get a system running where you could get them to the reproductive age and possibly devise a system to where they may be somewhat self populating.
It seems that most problems come from the dead, dying, and decaying food, waste, and other contaminates. Most of the time these systems are ran with 0 filtration and rely simply on water changes to keep the water within the tolerance needed. I'm curious if a protein skimmer would be of use assuming you could skim without sucking up the shrimp.? Or would this be removing too much of the "food" which the bbs rely to grow?
