so i think i might get my first corals next weekend when i go and get my water at the lfs. I think i will get zoas as they are only $5. Do they need to be super glued or are they ok to be just sat on a rock? I'm just asking ahead of time so i can go out and get some glue this week

most of the time my LFS gives me a small rock they are attached to but if not i usually use super glue "GEL". It makes things a lot easier to work with especially if your doing the gluing in the water and as far as i can tell it dose not damage coral as long as you keep it on the bottom.

well it really depends on what animals you have with them. I personally hate gluing corals to rocks. but thats just MPO.

when i took a glance at their frags last time, i don't think they had theirs attached to rocks, and they were tiny with probably 5 heads *think thats what you call them?* but i'll take a better look at them next weekend. and ok, i'll make sure i will get the gel kind

my only worry about not gluing is that they'll move around and not stay where i want them to be

well ive heard that when a coral moves its because the place where it was placed was not well suited for it, so it moves to where it likes...:p
but i guess gluing its ok, i would do it, just to prevent it falling over, but im not comfortable using glue.

do you would think it would be best to just place it kind of randomly on the rock and let it move around by itself and let it get comfortable for like a week then glue it, or will it stay once it's found a spot that it likes?

Also. Will i need to buy food for the zoas, or are they just fed through light?

i will put them im my favorite place and monitor it for a week. if it moves, then wait about 3 more days, just to make sure. and then glue. thats just what i would do....

ive heard the lights are just fine. ive also heard sea snow. not 100% sure though
