    well yeah i know this happens on forums but i mean discouragement kind of makes it feel like its impossible to keep a mandarin in a 10 gallon. im pretty sure someone has done it before, but if i eve do attempt to do so it'll probably be after my tank is truly established. for now im just going with regular fish, though i probably am gonna start a fuge soon enough

    You can do it. It has been done. it is just not recommended and hard to do.

    ive kept a mandarin in a 16 gallon but it was eating prepared food and relied little upon the live rock.

    i'll just be lucky to get a mandarin that eats frozen food or something of that sort

    AVOIDING THE MADARIN ORDEAL....

    simply put rocks and or cheato in your sump, and feed phyto. i would also provide some light.

    yeah i gots some phyto. does it matter what light i use for chaeto? all i have are some fluorescents

    i think any lighting should work. i have PC's and they work fine for my chaeto.
