Question on salt

    Well ik on IO salt it says you can mix and then add but how long should you really let it sit. I was going to mix it and powerhead and heater it for around 24 hrs is that ok or should I do as it say mix and add

    I would wait 24 hours. When water comes out of your Rodi it has no O2 so mixing for awhile will help add O2 to the water.

    leaving it 24 hours is fine Skyvern
    there is nothing wrong with mixing it and using it after your sure it has all dissolved and the water is crystal clear

    but leaving it that extra time as you suggest, is also a good idea IMO

    I always mix my saltwater overnight with a powerhead and heater if needed. Then do the waterchange the next morning

    If you are filling a new tank, you can add as soon as it's mixed; it will have plenty of time to heat and aerate while the system cycles. For water changes on an established tank, I prefer to do as others have suggested- let it circulate 24 hours before using.

    I always wait 24 hours before adding to my tank unless an emergency.
