Question for Concealed Carry guys

Well I had a nice long post...but my mom had to "look something up on the computer" and I got signed out...so the post got lost. Crap.

Interesting thread. Now I have a couple of questions for the permitted people.

Why do you carry?

If you were at the beach would you really still have your gun?

 

Anyone go through the FL state CCW program? I'm looking to complete the course in a few months after I get settled in down here with a day job. Specifically, how complete did you feel the course was; Do they offer any advanced training to further the basic course material; Did you have to shoot at a range and if so, what was the minimum score?

Fire extinguisher: I've been around guns my whole life and have a very healthy respect for them. Living in WI for the past 24 years and now located in FL, I plan to partake in the privilege offered.

 

I carry because I grew up dealing with scrap metal people my whole life. Its what my entire fathers family does. The people that come through the recycling yards are some of the roughest you can cross. We all carry at the yards because you never know if youre going to get mugged by these thugs while you are in the back doing something.. Just got used to the idea and I feel safe..

At the beach... Heck yes..

to the question of why do you carry? because it may make all the difference in protecting your life or your loved ones. A bad guy is not going to wait for the police to show up before he executes a witness. Id rather take out someone with a gun, than him kill or main me/wife/kid. of course its all a last resort option. Id rather have one last option than be all out. you will go through that with whatever class you take. take a good class, dont try to get around it with some of the bs deals. you will learn alot from a good instructor.
