    If you are going to use a filter: Be sure that the medication(if you use) won't be affected by certain forms of chemical filtration.

    Add just a bare tank, no LR no LS at all. A 10G is cheap, I got one at Petsmart for $8. I would just add a small powerhead and maybe a low volume airpump to agitate the water surface. Maybe put a small piece of 3-4" PVC pipe for it to hide in. Like said, get a cheap filter and you will be good to go. Kudos to you for knowing to QT your new fish. It's something that many people that are new negect to do. That is sssuming you are new since you were asking how to setup a QT tank. K+ to you!
