    Make sure you get a reliable test kit. My Elos kit was showing undetectable levels, so I didn't actually know that there was a problem until I got the Hanna checker.

    I'd recommend getting an RO/DI. It's way easier to simply not add phos to your system to begin with than it is to remove it later on. It's cheaper too! I've gone through about $75 worth of rowaphos to get my levels back down.
