    I started with mj400 and that didn't tumble, then the mj600 and got a slight tumble. Then got a mj1200 and that worked (for phosphate sponge). I have a 12" line to the intake.

    I'm using a 75 GPH powerhead that I actually have turned down. My media boils slightly at the surface. Granted, I have very little tubing and very little vertical lift.

    can you just tee off from your main return pump?

    The original post, 2 years ago, was referring to ecoBAK BioPellets - which take much more GPH to get a good tumble than GFO. 8)
