of course we are getting an ice/sleet storm right now. But will be on my way to LFS by 10am.. I will save the pump but I am defiantly done with Rio.. Any suggestions on Mag pump size? Or what I should be looking for?

24gallon nano? That makes me suspect a JBJ nano. You won't be able to fit any mag of any size in there.

Have a rio had the same problem. First thing like they said above is take it out clean it up! Inside the impeller there is a porcalin shaft make sure there is calcium buildup on it! If you dont get it running i would go with a diffrent pump! I use my rio to mix saltwater as they are not too reliable

My pump died so upgraded to a MaxiJet 1200. I have a 24g nano with a 28g HQI hood. Does anyone have any pics of how they installed the pump in the tank? I am not sure if I did it correct. I could use some help. Thanks. Here is how I have it in there now.

The pump is supposed to lay on it's side all the way at the bottom of the sump. There's a tube that goes from the pump to the 90 degree at the top. I would feel around back in that last chamber....the tube is probably sitting in there somewhere. (If you cant find it, you could always go to home depot and have a short piece of tubing cut.

AFAIK, HD only sells tubing in 10 foot lengths, pre-cut. Lowes will sell down to a foot, and cut on demand.
