The clump that will be left over after cutting will quickly re-grow new polyps.

This time I didn't use scissors. I did the smash and grab method. Pretty much got rid of 98% of my pulsing xenia. I saved a couple of very small pieces throughout the tank that will be pruned/watched closely. What's the smash and grab technique? Grab the xenia with thumb and pointer firmly. Tear colony from rock it's attached to. It leaves 0 trace of the xenia left to start re-growing. Unfortunately a ton of what was pulled out today is on the way to the landfill........:skull:

As a heads up, kenya tree eradication doesn't work as easy. Even if you tear the kenya from the rock, it will still re-grow.

It's no longer scissors. It's the thumb and fore finger...;) Rip/tear...

It will only be gone if it comes off the rock completely. If you rip it, the clump left behind will begin to sprout new polyps....
And mine can be ripped from the rock thrown in a grinder and still end up somewhere. So, yes it's super easy to give away. I have hardly any now. I keep it very pruned.
