    Where would the carbon be placed in the skimmer? My water is finally crystal clear, but the HOB intake is way to big for my tank so I need to mod it somehow

    anywhere it'll fit truthfully... just needs to be in a flow area... I'd lean towards putting it on the output side of the skimmer, but I know it can be done with that model. There's another thread somewhere that mentions doing it with your same skimmer (I think it's the guy who wrote the initial review on 3reef?)
