ohhh cmon... fuges are beautiful! i put one on every tank just because i feel that the fauna from one help the metabolism of a tank exponentially

you can always make it beside your tank and have it displayed... just fill it with beautiful stuff (nice algae) and some nice 6500k lighting so that everyone thinks its pretty!

ive gotten compliments on my displayed fuges before ;)

Can maybe get a used 10Gal and put it in between the 2 tanks w/ the small end by the wall and plumb both tanks into it. Or get a stand for the puffer tank that has space below it for the 10 gal and still plumb both tanks to it.

Also if your bubble and brain don't like the flow in the 46 just transfer them to the puffer tank.

that's not going to work either :( just barely enough space between the two to place 2 water jugs on top of each other

thankfully the brain and bubble are doing better they've adjusted to the flow :D but putting them with the puffer would be a good idea, id just have to upgrade the lighting :) but for now ill leave them :D

I think the fuge would really help. Mine has helped me lots in the little while I have had it set up. Would you think about a HOB fuge?

Then there is my 5 gal "Homer Bucket" fuge or sump idea in the small space under the bow front...just put something on the glass to block the light coming from it.

Will have to get a Rotozip or something to cut a hole in the back of the stand though.

Just throwing out ideas for you.
