Sooooo, how did all your numbers compare against the measurements you got from swing arms or hydrometers?

    I thought I had 1.024 when what I really had was 1.030!! [smiley=wreck.gif]

    I just received my new Premium Blue Refractometer - RHS-10ATC ;D ;D ;D

After calibrating it I tested my water with my old Instant Ocean swing arm hydrometer and got a SG of 1.025

Then I tested it with the Refractometer and got a reading of 1.024

They are a lot closer that I thought they would be
One more thing ;D I didn't have any distilled water so I used RO/DI water to calibrate it is that OK? I just changed my filters last week................. John

I used RO/DI as well. Did you calibrate it at the recommended 65 degrees?(I think that is what temp it required) Mine was right on and needed no adjusting.

I just won one of these on eBay for $29.00. I'm glad to see that others are impressed with the product! I'll post when I receive it and get a test done.

Ok, finally got the refractometer in hand. I did the calibration and found that it didn't need any adjustment. My first test of the tank water indicates that it's at 1.026. Exactly where I want it to be, and exactly what my IO swing arm hydrometer said. ;D

Well I got mine today. Never had one before, but it seems pretty accurate. I had a 1.028 when my deep-six hydro read 1.027. Needless to say, time to add some water.

Did you check the calibration? I believe it must be at 65 degrees Farenheit and with ro or distilled water?

    Congrats! I love mine! ;D
