Powerheads that do not "click" on and off?

I was going to use Rio unit for water circulation. Was thinking if I left those units on it might be too much movement- 2x Rio 1100 and 2x Rio 600 in a 72g bow tank. I wanted to get some random movement I think. Was going to install one of those timed wave power strips, but i hear Rio's tend to make clicking noises as they turn on and off. That would drive me insane if it was being done every 30-60 seconds. I am a little confused on how to get good circulation going though my tank that will stimulate live rock and coral growth. Tank will be fish, live rock/sand and soft corals. (just starting out as you could tell ;D)
