I turn mine off because if I don't most of it ends up going down the overflow.

I leave mine on, i figure if you need to walk a dog, you need to make your fish excersize as well! And I just don't feel like turning them off... waiting... turning them back on.

I have about 6,000 to 7,000 GPH moving around in this tank and the fish all have to catch what they can this way My corals all get fed the fish can move and I don't target feed noting but my child and If I could get him to chase his food then his little jig is up also LOL

Thanks for the input everyone! I was just wondering because I noticed there was a lot of junk that accumulated in my PH's when I shot em with my baster last night.

If I turn them off, I notice a lot of the food ends up on the sand, which the fish seem to ignore. After the food all settles out, and I turn the pumps back on, the fish start eating again. So, now I just leave them on, unless I'm intending to target feed my serpent star.

not only do I leave them on, I aim for them when adding the food to get good distribution.

Thats the main reason I do not nor would ever stop the pumps at feeding time , If you ever did any fishing or hunting ? Fish are stimulated and excited and turned on to fed when the bait is moving in an eractic motion , Like a dog that chases cars they never chase a parked or slow moving car its always a fast one . And why most dog bites are on the rear of the bitten they ran the dog went nuts and then it bites its the chase of the prey.
