Hey ladies & gents I need your help, I will be building a frag rack for my extra 55g standard tank I had hiding in the basement. I was hoping to get ideas from you folks, I am a visual person so I was hoping you could post picks of you frag rack build. I would love to see all racks, BIG or small, no matter what the cost to make. I will primarily be getting all my supplies from our local homedepot and I have a LFS right down the street should something come up? I am not bound by a budget and I am pretty handy I am just trying to do this right the first time. I have heard to use egg crate and pvc, zipties and glue, just need a little help to get started, let's see what you got?

i have a little frag rack in my DT because i don't have a dedicated tank (you lucky duck). therefore i needed mine to by mobile and relatively out of the way. a spare magfloat, some scrap eggcrate, a zip tie and you're done!

if you're going to use the whole tank for frags this is most likely not the way you will want to go for the main rack but it will open up a little more "real estate" if you need more room.

Triple level in my 55g frag. Recommend making it narrow enough for cleaning betweem the front and back panes (unlike here....pain in the rump)...my bad. ;)

seabass1, how did you build yours, is that eggcrate seems to be more sturdier than the stuff I am used too? Also what is that, PVC? I want to build something like yours that will last.

Yup, eggcrate & 1/2" PVC. I got the eggcrate from my LFS. Supposedly they have it at Home Depot.

cool, my project starts tomorrow, im gonna have live rock, but what do you guys think about having a crushed coral base also? My instinct says NO, more to clean and worry about.
