Thanks. It actually typically pulses faster than it did in the video these days. I put normal Xenia in my tank when it was only a few months old and it melted. A few months later I tried the Pom-Pom. It started to melt but turned around and it's thriving. I do not dose Iodine. I'm using Coralife salt and do a 20% water change every 2 weeks.

pH varies anywhere from 8.0 to 8.2. Most often it is at 8.05.
    Alkalinity is usually at 2 meq/l (dKh = 5.6).
    Temp 80deg F
Nitrate varies from 0.0 to 0.5 ppm
    Calcium 440 to 460 ppm
    SG 1.025
    Mg 1275 ppm
    Phosphate 0

I found that Xenia really loves bright light. It's half way down under 6x54W T5s.

Everyone says they grow like weeds and dont like them anymore, but i never thought of this as a problem, i bought a few nices frags from this one guy and he was nice enuff to throw in some pom pom for free, was super excited. If it ever gets out of hand, it is a great "stocking stuffer" for new reef hobbiest come holiday time.

Mine spreads but not like a weed. If it looks like it is going to spread onto another rock I'll just trim it and turn it into a frag. I've been fragging them for a couple of months to generate some reef dollars.

Oh just give it time. I put mine up top and it can still take over. Mine jumps rocks, grows down the rock structure, and even starts to grow on the glass.

    My thoughts exactly

I still really like mine. The problem is that there isn't a lot of reefers here and by now most everyone has them, so its hard to get rid of. But when I do find people, my corals like xenia, gsp's, and kenya are free to take. Just come and get 'em ;)

Is that a bit low, i thought it had to be minimum 7, or am i wrong?

It is on the low side. I'm dosing alkalinity but it's probably not enough. Everything is doing really well so I'm a little reluctant to change anything.

If one of you guys has both in your tank, could you possibly take a picture of them so I can see which is which?
