I've seen pictures for both the Pom Pom Xenia and the Pink Pulsating Xenia, and they look basically the same. Only problem is these pics were on Google image so the reliability is somewhat lacking. Are these the same coral with different names or are they somewhat different?

I have both and the pom poms are much more sensitive and the pulsing are easier to care for. My pom poms have died 4 times and come back and the pulsing have lived through it all.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but they do look almost identical, do they not? I was also under the impression that the pom poms pulse as well.

I am not sure, but I think they are one in the same. Pom Pom's do pulse. I have them ;) Been plenty hardy enough for me, stuff grows like crabgrass in my tank.

I have both, the regular ones I have are more purplish and the pom poms are pinkish.

I agree with this ..!! Crabb Grass..!!! I have learned tho if you get them start them at the top of your rock's if not they will grow to the top and take every thing over.. Under the right conditions.....

    Good Luck..!!

Maybe the confusion lies with the resemblance of anthelia to pom-pom xenia? Both related. One pulses and one doesn't.
