PNY's 1000 liter (lots of DIY)

A water level motorized, essentially a rotating filter sock/bag.
Pretty cool, I like the way it self rotates based on the flow thru the filter and and water level in the chamber.

 

But you would be replacing a re-usable filter sock with disposable paper. Why?

This is one of the crazier fish filters I've seen in a while. The video on the previous page had my jaw down.

Is that 1-ply paper or 2-ply? Because 1-ply is really abrasive. (Sorry I had too.)

What is the micron level on that paper Pny?

 

Mainly ease of use... I dont have to change anything on this for months, compared to filter socks that needs cleaning every other day... ;-)

Its very, very fine... I have not seen any specification from Theiling on this one, but I think these kind of filters typically use 5 micron material (at least thats the number floating around on the internet).

Good point. I will say that I like that it is compact. I imagine it polishes the water very well. You have quite the set up Pny!
