    My money is still on some kind of worm. There is a lot of worms that come out at night to filter feed. Most are in the fan worm family but look a lot different then feather dusters. Which would be why you think its some kind of coral opening up at night.

    I think we decided that it is a colt coral.

    Wait A minute

    This mystery coral which we thought was a colt coral is on its 3rd peice of live rock since I started this thread. Do these corals move that frequently or is this something else?

    Soft corals will move untill they find a spot they wanna be. I had xenia years ago move higher up from a low spot in the tank. They moved a good 8"s up. Its not uncommon for them to move.

    I'm just worried that it is something bad. Because now I have 2 new little ones. Thanks for the info.

    move the rock somewhere where you can get a good picture of it. If you are really worried about it. Then we can see a good pic of it.
