    Hello all,

I found this on my new LR that I put in the tank on Sunday. I didn't really bother finding out what it is, because I assumed it was dead/dying from the transport (24 hours out of water, but damp). I looked through my invert book and cant really figure out if this is a coral or what.

EDIT: There is some white bulb looking tips on the ends of the stalks. It seems that it's growing

    Thanks!

If you're talking about the red stringy looking stuff, it's looks to be a type of macro algae. Can you take a closer picture?

My camera isn't very good with closeups through the glass and water, but lets try this.

There is a zip file attached here with a much larger image, hope it helps some.

It's not really stringy persay. It's more like from a smaller bush or baby tree, branchlike I suppose. 1/8" in diameter, it sways in the current a bit. It's covered in red fuzz, like a velux blanket.
