    Hi all,

I am looking for some help with my hammer coral, the tentacles are not extending well. I also currently have a toadstool, star polyps, zoos, mushrooms, clove polyps, pumping xenia and button polyps in my tank that are doing outstanding.

This is in a 29 gallon biocube with a 10 gallon refuge and sump. My tank parameters are good, I am running T5HO lighting, and I occasionally supplement with iodine and trace elements.

Can anyone give some advice on this?

How long have you had the hammer and has it always been like this?

Please post a pic of the hammer and list all of those good parameters. We will be looking for Ca, Mg, Alk, nitrate, phosphate, salinity/ specific gravity, iodine since you are dosing it, and temperature.

How much flow is it getting? From experienced they don't like a lot of flow on them. Could it be the toadstool releasing mucus in the water?

Did you touch the tissue when placing it? Euphylias don't respond well to oils on our skin and will cause them to stay closed up.

Agreed, I always try not to touch the flesh when I'm setting them on rocks. It's difficult but doable.

I agree more information is needed. Have you added anything to the tank?
