I was looking at Lowes at "QUIKRETE 50 Lb. Play Sand". I haven't actually been to the store to look at the grain size or the specifics of the sand yet. It is the only one online at Lowes that hasn't been sanitized at my local Lowes though.

I may end up just going to Petco and buying some dry sand if I don't feel comfortable with any of the choices there. Lowes is where I am buying my lumber for my stand, that is why I am looking there for the sand.

Bought two bbags of this for my 125. Guy at homedepot says this is what they sell people for fish tank stuff. And people in homedepot are pretty good. Buts its alot of sand. Two bags of it in this tank was way more sand then I wanted and this tank is pretttty long

I used a lot of play sand in freshwater and have converted some to salt. I don't like it, but it hasn't given me problems. It is silica sand.

I'm not happy about it either, but funds are tight. I'm going to use just enough for a base, then use my existing sand to cover it.

Once upon a time, all we had was silica sand. We had no problems with it.

    just sayin'.

I'm really not to worried about it myself. I like the price of it a lot better then the price at the LFS. I will just make sure I rinse it real good before it goes in the tank.
