sorry missed the part where you mentioned you dosed flourish. Anyway, id cut back the light to only 6 hours a day and maybe start dosing individual ferts instead of an all in one style like flourish. That is just way to much light for way to long especially without co2 of any sort (diy or pressurized) or dosing specific separate ferts.

just out of curiosity what type of lighting is it? PC? MH? T5?

it is 2 x 65 watt PC's (dual daylight 6700K/10000K) cut up from and old fixture

Thanks I started the UV sterilizer last night and I will cut back the hours as well.

You mentioned DIY CO2 dosers are there any good styles out there. I don't want to spend the big money for a CO2 pressurized system when, I could be spending that money on completing my new 150 g saltwater setup.

    Thanks,
    Dustin

yeah DIY co2 is CHEAP! and works pretty good for small tank. The key is making it as efficient as possible so you can get as much of the co2 you create (using sugar, water, and yeast) to disolve into the water.

It is crazy the difference you can see. The water is almost completely clear, I will post pics later tonight.

    Thanks for the suggestion

glad it worked out :) I have a UV on my planted tank but only run it when it needs to be. They come in handy every so often :)
