So I've realized something... I have rock, sand and a AC 70.

Why let it go to waste? I'm thinking about starting a pico. I'm thinking maybe a 2.5 sps dominated with a gravity fed ATO. All I need to get is a heater and light!!! For lighting I'm thinking a simple 24w 50/50. This project is only going to cost around 35$.

    Fish: none.
    Inverts: none.
Sps: montipora, acros and birds best
    Lps: a torch
Softies: a ton of polyps and zoas
    Rock: 5lbs Marco
    Sand: 5 lbs sugar sand
Filtration: aquaclear 70 with a sponge and carbon
    Heat: 25w heater

This won't happen for another month or two but I figure I might as well get as much info as possible!!!!

    Whatdya think?

you wont be able to grow sps with a desk lamp. that tank is the perfect size for a par30 bulb.

I say go for it. You just need to check on the PAR with the 50/50 bulb to make sure it will support SPS.

Yea, leds are not a bad price for that small of a tank. And good idea with the ato! That tiny tank would evaporate water like a puddle in a sunny day! :p

Hey, you could PM member 2in10 to see if that lighting would support SPS's.

How would you reflect the light down into the tank?
